We took a walk around the Birding for Everyone Trail in Grand Valley Audubon’s Ela Wildlife Sanctuary a couple weeks ago. It’s a great place to watch for birds. This time we saw a Northern Flicker, a Belted Kingfisher, several Red-winged Blackbirds, and the usual geese and ducks. Last year we were lucky enough to see a wild turkey–not a sight you usually see in downtown Grand Junction.
It’s an easy, peaceful trail, and it’s actually quite pretty, especially in the evening.
